MODERN YOUTH
Sir,—ln comparing youth—past and present—some of your correspondents give no credit at all to the love and careful training which so nany parents give their children. As a post-war parent. I can remember, for instance, urging my lad again and again “to be polite, but never to crawl to anyone.” Now. if he is a bit independent-minded and straight and fearless, should I get only the doubtful credit that 'his age is more straightforward than mine was"? I think it has been a gradual evolution, and that parents worthv >f the name have played a splendid part in bringing it about. Realising their own faults, they trained their children to avoid the same faults.—Yours, etc., HONOUR TO PARENTS. November 18. 1942.
