TROTTING NOTES

Answers to Correspondents Scribe, Blackball; (1) No. Fine Art won the National All Age Stakes of one mile and a quarter, at Addington last August. This race was not described as a free-for-all, although all horses started off the same mark, 36 yards behind. He won the Autumn Free-for-All at Addington on March 28. 1940. (2) Plutus won the Frec-for-All at Addington on November 15, 1940, at New Brighton, February 18, 1939, and at Addington April 3, 1939. A Useful Field The field for the Hurricane Handicap 3min 43sec class, at the Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting next week, includes several young horses that have shown promise in recent racing, among them being the three-year-olds Lucky Gem, Radical, Nola Scott, Terry O Shea, and Fancy Goods. The King George Handicap at this meeting has drawn a field in keeping with the good stake' of £6OO offered for a 4min 33sec class race. Glenarrif, Countless, Shadow Maid, Single Star. Sabu, Horse Power, and the trotter Margin, showed their true merit at the’ recent Addington meeting, and should provide an exceptionally good race. Margin is a brilliant trotter, one of the fastest racing, but her task against the good pacers is a big one. The Derby Winner The Derby winner, Scottish Lady, has been nominated for the Frcyberg Handicap at Forbury Park, but a handicap of 24 yards in a big field will keep her doing her best. Her win in the classic race was decisive, and her racing against older and more experienced horses will be watched with 1 interest. Smart Sprinters The Churchill Handicap, of £3oo, has drawn one of the most select fields raced at Forbury Park for many a day, and includes the New Zealand Cup wmnei Haughty, Sabu, who won a treble at the last Auckland meeting. Countless. Burt Scott, Shadow Maid, Coquette, Pleasant Guy. and Happy Man. Asked to give away 24 yards, Haughty would only need to reproduce her Sprint Cnampionship form to have a great chance. Sabu. Burt Scott, and Countless are all prospects for this race.
