AMERICAN RED CROSS

ACTIVITIES IN NEW ZEALAND (P.A.) WELLINGTON, November 16. The activities of the American Red Cross in New Zealand are to be considerably extended, according to the organisation’s field director in the Dominion (Mr W. J, Enders). In addition to the opening of an area office in Wellington to control these activities, there is to be an American Red Cross hostel in Wellington, and separate rest homes in the country are to be established for United Nations’ service personnel. The hostel in Wellington will be capable of billeting 250 men.

The rest homes will be for officers and men of all the United Nations from the fighting areas who, in the opinion of their superior officers, need to recuperate from the strain of war.
