* EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The official opening day of the East Christchurch Amateur Swimming Club was held on Saturday. Results of events were:—so Yards Lady Clifford Cup Race; M. Lauchlan 1, E. Britain and J. Baughan (equal) 2. Time, 54 2-ssec. 220 Yards Dalton Cup; G. Harris 1, R. Henry 2, E. Bodger 3. Time, 2min 59 4-ssec. 25 Yards Schoolgirls’ Race; E. Benson 1, B. Pierce 2. 25 Yards Schoolboys' Race: M. Baughan 1, M. Soutter 2. Schoolchildren’s Mixed Dive: M. Soutter. 25 Yards Schoolchildren’s Mixed Breaststroke: A. Familton 1, O. Greatbatch 2. 50 Yards Mixed Handicap: E. Britain I, H. Tremain 2. A relay race, East Christchurch v. Air Force, was won by the Air Force team by a touch. A water polu match. East Christchurch v. Air Force, resulted in a draw, 1-1.
