SCHOOL SPORTS
CHRISTCHURCH WEST Some performances of high standard were recorded at the annual athletic sports of Christchurch West High School at Haelov Park. The outstanding competitor was R. P; Chisholm, who won most of the championship events for which he entered, and who had no difficultv in annexing the senior title. R. Molneux was runner-up in the senior championship. and rnc junior championship was won oy J . Woods, with C. Kennelly run-ner-up. In the girls’ section Helen Leith and Pat Rodgers tied in championship points, and Shirley Busby won the junior C. Taylor established a record in the boys' intermediate long jump, his distance being 17ft Bin. The previous record was 17ft Sin. In the girls 75 yards junior championship, S. Busby equalled the record. Bright sunshine prevailed in the afternoon, and a south-westerly wind assisted competitors in most of the shorter races.
