. Canterbury Housewives’ Union.—A resolution carried at the last meeting of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Women’s Food Value League was endorsed unanimously by the Canterbury Housewives’ Union on Monday. The resolution was: “That this meeting deplores the obstructive attitude adopted by Crs. Lyons and Denton toward the question of a civic vegetable campaign. In view of the congratulatory remarks of the Minister of Agriculture on the vegetable inquiry committee’s report, this meeting urges the council to co-operate with all citizens and organisations willing to assist in a campaign for the better understanding of the selection, growing, and use of vegetables, to improve the health of the community.”
