EMERGENCY WORK-OUT
An E.P.S. trial is being arranged for Lyttelton for Sunday morning, subject to the waterfront not being too busy. The trial will include all sections of the E.P.S. All members will parade in London street at 9 a.m., wearing armbands and helmets, and afterwards the alarm will be sounded, and sections will go to their posts and carry cn with trials. Pedestrians, other than E.P.S. workers, will be directed by wardens to the various public shelters. Particulars of the work-out will be advertised in “The Press” on Saturday. Trinity Tennis Club
At the twenty-seventh annual meeting of the Trinity Tennis Club nine new members were elected. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £BO 2s. During the season trophies were won as follows:—Tredennick Cups, Miss J. Harkess and Mr W. Wales; Mrs J. Souter’s trophy. Mrs B. Muxlow; challenge buttons, Mrs B, Muxlow and Mr W. Wales. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, the Rev. J. Evans; president, Mr S. Tredennick: vice-presidents, Dr. C. H. Upham, Messrs F. E. Sutton, A. L.. Graham, R. Sowden, L. Sharr, and S. Nicholl; captain, Mr B. Muxlow; vice-captain, Mr W. Wales; women's captain, Mrs B, Muxlow; secretary and treasurer, Mrs B. Muxlow; committee, Mesdames J, Sowden and E. Chalmers, Misses A. Knowles, P. Burns, J. Harkess, D. McCormick, D. Donnelly, J, Lester, Messrs A. Coleman, I. Wales, G. Learmonth, S. Nicholl.
