OFFICIAL FORECASTS (P.S.S.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. The weather forecast for Canterbury. Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: Moderate and rather variable winds; weather becoming fair to fine; cool to moderate temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate south-westerly to westerly winds, weather fair to cloudy; cool to moderate temperatures. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine but overcast, until the late afternoon, when rain began to tall from the southwest. The maximum temperature was 65 degrees.
