Purchase of Property.—The purchase of a property at 740 Avonside drive, with a. two-storey bungalow and garage, at a price of £1250, was approved by the Christchurch City Council last evening. The property is at the entrance to Avon Park, and the reserves committee reported that it •would make a suitable house- for the custodian of this new park. Kanglora Man’s Bequest.—Under the will of the late Charles Walter Elliott, retired businessman, who died at Rangiora on August 3 this year, £IOOO has been bequeathed to st. Saviour's Guild for the general charitable purposes of orphanages under its control, the residue going to the Salvation Army at Christchurch for charitable purposes of the army among elderly persons. The value of the estate is approximately £7OOO. The Public Trustee Is executor and trustee.
