E.P.S. TRIAL
ORDER OFiTHE DAY ISSUED An order of the day for the E.P.S. trial next Sunday was issued yesterday by the Chief Warden (Mr E. H. Andrews). The alarm will be sounded as nearly as possible to 9 a.m. and the all-clear at approximately 10.30. Because members of the supply organisation are not normally called on to perform their duties until 24 hours after an alarm, other duties will be found for members of the supply section—with the exception of car or truck drivers —during Sunday’s trial. Members of the commercial fire guard, will not go on duty, but building fire organisers have been asked to prepare rosters for the three weeks starting October 9 and to advise their personnel that, although they are not actually called for duty at the trial, they may be called during the period of the roster by public order. During the period from October 4 to October 30, occupiers of buildings are asked to hold at their own convenience, in business hours, two trials of their facilities, for getting staffs and customers into shelters. During these trials, fire guards will be at their duty stations.
