ENFORCEMENT OF NEW REGULATIONS The co-operation of the Christchurch City Council’s traffic inspection staff hi the enforcement of the Transport Control Emergency Regulations, 1942, has been promised by the council’s traffic committee. It was reported to the council last evening that a request for such co-operation had been received from the Commissioner of Transport. The purpose of the new regulations, the committee’s report stated, was to provide a more detailed control than is provided by the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, over goods services and taxicab services for the purpose of conserving petrol and tyres.
