CORONER’S COMMENT AT INQUEST

At the inquest into the death of Teresa Behm, aged 72, and her granddaughter, Irene Day, aged 16, who collapsed and died at Kamo Spa on September 6, the Coroner found that death was due to inhaling irlespirable gasss. He announced his intention of recommending to the Department of Justice that such places as the spa should be subject to the same'inspection as mines and quarries. Witnesses agreed that the water of the spring was regarded as most beneficial. Pebple had gone down to the spring level to drink the water, and the presence of gas had never caused comment.
