RED CROSS SOCIETY DETACHMENTS
NATIONAL ORGANISATION ESTABLISHED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. A national organisation for the control and direction of all men’s detachments of the New Zealand Red Cross Society was set up at a conference held yesterday. Dr. Alexander-Gillies, who presided, explained that the object was to co-ordinate the work of the men’s detachments which at present were functioning throughout the Dominion as separate units. The conference, which was attended by delegates from the men’s detachments and representatives of the Army, Police, and Health Departments, set up a Dominion council to act as the controlling body. Rules and regulations to ensure uniformity in training were adopte ( d. A commandant-in-chief and other staff officers are to be selected later. -
