Pending the appointment of a successor to Mr C. A. Batt, as headmaster at Hokitika District High School, Mr H. L, Wilson (Christchurch) will take over the duties as from October 5.
Mr W. Scobie has been elected president of the Gore Chamber of Commerce.
Flying Officer C. G. Gillies has arrived in Dunedin from Palmerston North to take over command of the Dunedin wing of the Air Training Corps. Mr S. Rice, of Wyndham, has been re-elected chairman of the Southland Education Board.
