WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FARMERS’ UNION

Walmalrl-PapanUl.— Mrs Moncrlef presided at the monthly meeting of the Waimairi-Papanui branch of the Women s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mrs McGill gave a demonstration of spinning and weaving. Results of the competitions were as follows:—Vase flowers: Mrs Greig 1, Miss Plummer 2. Cluster bloom: Mrs Greig 1, Miss Cadenhead 2. Single bloom; Mrs Greig 1, Mrs Greenslade 2. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Gibb, Greig, and Cawood. The lady editor of “The Press” gratefully acknowledges receipt of a packet of used stamps from Miss Maxwell. Fisher street, Beckenham, and a balaclava from H.M.G. for a man on a British minesweeper.
