DENTAL CLINIC The following have been appointed a committee in connexion with the Lyttelton Dental Clinic:—Messrs E. S. Matheson (chairman), E. H. Ashton (secretary and treasurer), T. George (Rapaki), J. Paulsen (Lyttelton Main School), J. McMahar (St. Joseph’s Convent Schools), and L. White (Heathcole). Personal In supporting the nomination of Mr J. T. Norton for re-election as president of the Lyttelton Sub-Centre of St. John Ambulance Association at the annual meeting last night, Mr C. H. Kersley announced that recently Mr Norton had been presented with a certificate of life membership of the Order of St. John, in recognition of his many years of service to the Lyttelton Sub-Centre. The meeting carried a resolution congratulating Mr Norton on the award. Ambulance Meeting An increase in the number of cases transported, from 150 the previous year to 212 for the year just ended, was shown, in the report presented at the annual meeting of the Lyttelton Sub-Centre of St. John Ambulance Association last night. The mileage covered by the ambulance was 5697, as compared with 3850 for the previous year. Mr J, T. Norton presided and there was an attendance of 25. Mr McKenna, president, and Mr C. H. Kersley, secretary, represented the Canterbury and West Coast Centre of the association. An increase of expenditure, caused by increased costs and mileage, was shown in the balance-sheet, but the financial position remained satisfactory. In congratulating the sub-centre on its satisfactory position, Mr McKenna spoke of the harmony which now existed in the

Order both In Christchurch and Lyttelton, especially between the association and the brigade. He said that the Order was now receiving greater support than ever from the public. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr J. T. Norton; vice-president, Mr W. T. Lindsay; secretary, Mr W. Miller; treasurer, Mr A. K. Dyne: committee, Messrs F. E. Sutton, R. E. Cairns, W. Burgess, S. E. Buchanan, E. S. Matheson, Mrs R. P. Miller; auditor, Mr G. C. Taylor.
