ESCAPE FROM BORSTAL INSTITUTION
YOUTHS RECAPTURED (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, Sept. 23. After being at liberty for 24 hours, the two youths who escaped from the Borstal Institution at Invercargill on Monday night were caught near Mataura just before midnight last night. This morning Thomas Paul Angell, aged 17, and Peter Lawrence Samson, aged 18, appeared before Mr R. C. Abernethy, S.M., on a charge of unlawfully escaping from custody. They were remanded until next Wednesday. The condition of Warder George Steele, who was attacked by one of the escapees, improved to-day, but is still serious.
