E.P.S, TRIAL IN DAYLIGHT

NEXT TEST ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4

The next Christchurch Metropolitan E.P.S. trial will be held on the morning of Sunday, October 4. The time of the trial will be announced in advance, but it has not yet been decided upon, said the Mayor and District Controller (Mr E. H. Andrews) yesterday. Recent E.P.S. trials have taken the form of surprise emergency tests. The next one will, it is expected, be a fullscale rehearsal, the object of which will be to familiarise every member of the organisation’s personnel with his station, duties, and equipment. Mr Andrews said the time chosen originally was 8.30 a.m., but this had not been decided upon. The organisation did not wish the trial to conflict with church services, and an endeavour would be made to select a time that would cause the least inconvenience to church-goers.
