CROSSCOUNTRY RUNNING
ST. BEDE’S CHAMPIONSHIPS
The St. Bede's College cross-country championships were held yesterday under ideal conditions. In the open championship. D. Blyth ran the distance (about three and a quarter miles) in 18mm 24 sec, breaking the record made by E. Malley in 1932. Following are details:— Open Championship.—D. Blyth 1, D. Mannix 2, J. Cannon 3, M. D. Frawley 4. Intermediate.—Reginald Richards 1, P. Kelieher 2, J. Hodgins 3, M. Poff 4. Junior.—K. Goodman 1, P. Courtney 2, J. Prendergast 3, F. Connell 4. Handicaps were run in conjunction with the championships, and resulted as follows: , . „ _ Open.—D. Mannix 1, B. Debenham 2, J. Fahey 3. . _ _ Intermediate.—C. Horgan 1, M. Poff 2, W. Leemlng 3.
