Swimming Club Cups and Trophies. —Protection for cups and trophies held by swimming dubs forced to close down because of war conditions was offered by the Canterbury Swimming Centre in a circular to the annual general meeting of the Christchurch and United Swimming Club last evening. The circular suggested that, when a club was forced to close down temporarily, it should send all its cups and trophies for safe keeping to the centre until such time as it was able to reform.

LEAKAGE OF INFORMATION TO THE ENEMY ♦ The most patriotic citizen can unwittingly provide a scrap of information overheard in conversation, or include an apparently innocent remark in a letter which, when collected with hundreds of other scraps, provides information of real value to the enemy. It nust be remembered that the enemy intelligence organisation is world-wide and that enemy agents are by no means obvious as such. They are ordinary looking individuals and they are on the job night and day, in trains, trams, hotels, crowded shops and in the street and they hr ; sharp ears. Therefore don’t talk about any matter of the slightest significance in regard to . the Army. Navy, Air Force, or Shipping, and when writing letters do not leave it to the censor. Remember that he has thousands of other letters besides yours to deal with, and that overseas mail is I regarded as a rich prize by the enemy.' Be on your guard all the time against careless talk and careless writing. Avoid it like the plague and discourage it at every opportunity. Make that part of your war effort. Inserted to assist the war effort by the proprietors of Baxters Lung Preserver. —1
