* RANGIORA There were good entries In all classes at the weekly stock market at Rangiora yesterday. Values ranged as follows; Sheep.—Ewes and lambs (all counted), 14s to 17s. Cattle.—Springers, £7 to £ll 10s; springing heifers, £5 to £ll. Pigs. —Porkers, 53s 6d to 60s; slips, 30s to 345; weaners. 24s to 30s. ASHBURTON A drop of 5s was shown in prices at the Ashburton stock sale yesterday. Lightweight ewes made from 14s to 20s lOd; medium-weight sheep, 23s Id to 24s lOd; heavy-weight, 25s 9d to 295; extra heavyweight, 29s to 37s 10d; wethers ranged from 3§s to 43s lOd. LORNEVILLE (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, September 22. Because of an unusually short supply of fat sheep at the Lorneville stock sale to-day, values for ewes increased from 7s to 10s The fat cattle market was firm for good quality bullocks and heifers, but there was a marked easing in prices for medium and unfinished cows Good quality fat wethers sold at 44s to 49s 9d, medium 41s to 43s 6d, light-weights 37s 6d to 395. light and unfinished 32s to 34s 6d, good quality ewes to 43s 6d, medium quality 40s 6d to 41s 6d. unfinished 38s 6d to 39s 9d, and inferior 33s to 35s 6d. Lambs met with keen competition, prices ranging from 37s to 40s 3d. Prime quality bullocks brought £l9 15s to £2l. good quality medium-weights £l7 10s to £lB 10s handv-weights £ls to £l6 ss. lightweights £l2 10s to £l3 10s. extra good cows to £l6 2s 6d, prime heavy £l3 15s to £l4 15s, good quality £ll 10s to £l2 10s. medium £8 15s to £9 15s, and inferior £5 fo £8 ss. Prime quality heifers sold at £l4 to £l4 15s, handy-weights £l2 Iss to £l3 10s. light-weights £lO 5s to £ll 10s. and' small £8 to £9 10s.
