FORMER CHRISTCHURCH MAN

B. D. Willcox, one of Britain's ‘mystery’ generals, has been made a commander, the London Gazette announced under the heading ‘lndia Office' last night. General Will* cox is 53.” Probably the only New Zealander who has risen to the command of sn army corps in the Imperial Anny, Lieutenant-General Willcox is a bother of Mr H. E. D. Willcox, Timaru, and Mr Tristram Willcox, St. AlbansHe left Christchurch with a colonial commission in 1911. He was promoted to his present rank last year.
