Wage Increase In India.—An increase in the cost-of-living allowance for lowpaid servants of the Indian Central Government has been approved by the Standing Finance Committee, a New Delhi report states. A separate scheme for railwayman is under consideration. The scheme will cost the Government 170 lakhs of rupees a year.—Bombay, September 19.
