MADAGASCAR CAMPAIGN The Vichy-controlled Madagascar radio said that the Gover-nor-General (M. Anet) had moved to a town at the south of the island, but resistance would be continued to the utmost.— London, September 20. GERMAN FORCES IN LENINGRAD AREA The German radio said the Germans, after hard fighting, entered the harbour area at Leningrad. German sappers, using flame-throwers, drove the defenders out. Bombing by the Luftwaffe and shelling by German artillery destroyed a big oil refinery plant and 146 oil tanks. —London, September 20.
