MEN FOR FREEZING WORKS

SURVEY BEING MADE REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW SEASON A survey of the manpower requirements of the freezing industry is being made by the Manpower Utilisation Committee, the freezing companies, and the Manpower Officer at Christchurch (Mr M. Ross), It is essential, Mr Ross told a reporter of “The Press” yesterday, that this survey should be completed by the end of this month. To assist in the quick completion of the survey a request is being made to all freezing works employees who were employed last season to communicate with the companies by which they were employed and to advise them whether they will be available for employment this season. "It will be understood that if they are at present engaged in an essential undertaking it will be necessary for them to obtain the written permission of the district manpower officer before they leave their present employment,” said Mr Ross.
