Ram, which at times was very heavy, was accompanied by heavy peals of blunder and lightning. Evidence of excep. tional rain in the hills was given by the sudden and steep rise in the Inangahua river, which had been very low In a few hours it was running fast and at a high level. There has been a decided drop in temperature, and a fresh fall of snow on the mountain ranges. The sudden change in the weather will check growth which was, for this time of the year, well advanced, No damage is reported as a result of the storm, and all roads are clear for traffic.
