IF YOU WROTE A LETTER TO HITLER
If you did it would probably be unprintable, but whatever you said you would certainly not give him any information of value. Yet many people unthinkingly include scraps of information of value to the enemy in letters sent overseas There is always the chance of overseas mail falling into enemy hands. These scraps of information in the aggregate give valuable information to enemy intelligence. It is the solemn duty of every letter writer to include matters of only personal interest and to make no reference to troops, troop movements, camps, aerodromes, shipping, or any information connected with the Army, Navy, or Air Force. It should not even be mentioned that someone has joined a certain specialised branch. It is safer to use the broad terms of Army. Navy or Air Force. Remember that the boys overseas realise the value of Security and will appreciate your discretion. Inserted to assist the war effort by the proprietors of Baxters Lung Preserver. —5
