MATERIAL FOR DRESSMAKING
Sir,—Could you tell me if a pupil attending a dressmaking school is entitled to coupon-free material for learning to dressmake, or does it apply only to primary school sewing? I would be very obliged if you could enlighten me on this subject as it will be impossible to continue with the lessons if pupils have to use their coupons for this purpose.—Yours, etc., LEARNER. Hororata' September 10, 1942. [The District Rationing Officer states that there is no provision for the supply of dressmaking materials, coupon free, to persons learning dressmaking; but it is suggested that if “Learner” communicates with the District Rationing Officer, Christchurch, stating whether the articles made are retained by her or left at the dressmaking school for sale, a more definite reply could be given.]
