Sir, —Your contribution of one and a half columns in "The Press" of Friday was the best advertisement the Patriotic Fund Appeal has yet received. It will lead to the posting of annual subscriptions Cannot the Christchurch Patriotic Fund Committee devise some plan by which business firms and staffs will give regularly in proportion to their position in the city to this fund?— Yours, etc.. EXCALIBUR. September 14, 1942. ["A businessmen's committee has already been set up to attend to this," said the chairman of the" Canterbury Provincial Patriotic Council, Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon. "The committee is working under the auspices of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, the Canterbury Manufacturers' Association, and the Canterbury Employers' Association, and individual firms will be waited on at an early date."!
