TRAINING TO BEAT JAPAN
Sir,—lt is to be hoped that officers in charge of some units of the Home Guard will read your leading article of Thursday. The suggestions contained in it should be included in Orders of the Day and impressed upon those who seem to be making a fetish of parade ground drill. Standing properly to attention with the hands in the correct place, etc., etc.. will not kill any Japanese. A knowledge of the weapons of war will.—Yours, etc., ' HOME GUARD. September 17, 1942.
