DUVAUCHELLE SHOW

♦ DATE FIXED FOR NOVEMBER 12 . A decision to hold the annual show on November 12 was made at the adjourned annual meeting of the Peninsula Horse Show and Pastoral Association this week. It was reported that the Banks Peninsula Agricultural and Pastoral Association would definitely hold a horse show on November 21, and It was therefore decided to proceed with the Duvauchelle Show. In the revision of the schedule it was decided that the prizes in the horse and cattle classes be reduced from first 30s, second 15S,’ and third 7s 6d, to first 255, second 10s, and third ss. In the hall exhibits the prizes were reduced from 5s first and 3s second, to 4s first and 2s second. In the horse classes two jumping events were added. Mr T. R. Mould gave a ribbon and £1 Is first prize for the best jumper, and the association will give the second and third prizes. Mr C. D. Kay gave £1 for first prize and 10s second prize for a pony jump (open) for ponies 14.2 hands and under. The cattle classes will be the same as last year. It was decided .to delete the sheep classes, except the pet lamb class, because of transport difficulties. In the hall exhibits, the junior section, photography, and handcraft sections were deleted, and the domestic produce, farmers’ produce, fruit and vegetables, and flower sections were approved, with a few minor alterations. It was left to Mr D. McKay to make arrangements for the dog trial events and Mr S. J. Vogan to permission to use the saleyards and surrounding paddocks for the use of the show. Arrangements for the show night dance were left to Mr Donald Mould. It was decided that members should be given their usual privileges, and luncheon be provided for judges and officials.
