APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 17. The following appointments and promotions of officers on active service with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas are gazetted tonight;— Grants of temporary rank: Brigadier (acting-Major-Generai) L. M. Inglis, D.5.0., M.C., V.D., to be a major-gen-eral (temporary), while commanding the 2nd Division; Major (acting-Lieu-tenant-Colonel) R. J. Lynch, M.C., to be a lieutenant-colonel (temporary) while commanding a battalion; Major H. C. Dyer to be a lieutenant-colonel (temporary) while commanding a training depot. Infantry: .Captain (temporary Major) T. B. Morten to be a major. Dental Corps; Captain G. McCallum to be a major (temporary) while commanding a New Zealand base depot dental hospital. Other 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force overseas appointments are: Lieutenant-Colonel D. F. Leckie is appointed a general staff officer (first grade) in a New Zealand Division. Pacific section. New Zealand Infantry; Lieutenant-Colonel J. G. C. Wales, M. is granted the temporary rank of colonel; Major A. J. Moore is to be a lieutenant-colonel. Miss E. M. Lewis is appointed matron of a hospital ship and is seconded from the New Zealand Army Nursing Service. The following are to be sisters on a hospital ship and are seconded from the New Zealand Army Nursing Service: R. Fumball and M. J. Noonan. Sister B. Helliwell is to be charge sister (temporary) on a hospital ship. The following appointments in the New Zealand Military Forces are gazetted. Major (temporary LieutenantColonel) D. G. Wallace relinquishes the temporary appointment of Deputy-As-sistant-Director of Medical Services, Army Headquarters, and temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel. Major E. F. Clayton-Greenc, New Zealand Artillery, commanding a light anti-aircraft regiment, is to be a lieu-tenant-colonel (temporary). Major S. J. Kelly, 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, commanding a battalion, is to be a lieutenant-colonel (temporary). ■ ~ Major (temporary) W. H. Sheffield, Now Zealand Medical Corps, is to be a lieutenant-colonel (temporary). Lieutenant-Colonel P. C. Davis, New Zealand Medical Corps, is appointed to command a field ambulance. K.N.Z.A.F. Promotions The following Royal New Zealand Air Force promotions (temporary in all cases) are gazetted:— Squadron, Leader I. E. Rawnsley is to be a wing commander. Flight Lieutenants E. B. Firth, A.F.C., and F. R. Meatchem are to be squadron leaders. , . In the equipment branch, Flight Lieutenants W. D. Abcrnethy and F. J. McWhinnie are to be squadron leaders. , In the administrative (special duties) branch, Acting-Squadron Leader J. M. Gamble and Flight Lieutenants T. L. Harland S. A. Goldingham. and C. C. N. Johnston are to be squadron leaders.
