STALINGRAD BATTLE Moscow reports describe the present German air attacks on Stalingrad as the heaviest of the war. Five hundred aircraft are dropping thousands of bombs on the defences and on communications across the Volga. The raids are particularly severe to the south-west, where a further German advance has been reported. Morcow radio describes the situation here as critical, —London, September 15. EGYPTIAN FRONT Marshal Rommel is reported to be increasing his night patrols on the Alamein front. He is also strengthening his wire and his mil*eflelds.—Cairo, Sept. 15.
