GERMAN LOSSES AT STALINGRAD The “New York Times” says Hitler, appalled by the terrific sacrifice of manpower for every inch of ground gained on the Stalingrad front, has called Marshal von Bock back to his headquarters for a report. Citing Italian sources, the “New York Times” adds that Marshal Keiiel will direct the final phase of the assault on Stalingrad. The same Italian sources report that Marshal Rommel is at present in Stuttgart Hospital suffering from malaria. —New York, September 14.
