What would i/m say ?.?,? ■<N V i cs&a u /. Recall to mind the good old days when the amount of petrol in your tank was governed mainly by how much one could afford to pay for- when the eky waa the limit on speed tyre* were plentiful and cheap——and roadhogs zoomed hither and thither, Into and out of muddy potholes, to the chagrin, disgust, and discomfiture of that fast disappearing of humans __tho pedestrian—who was always considered fair game for Inconsiderate drivers during inclement weather. We want to know: If It happened to you what would YOU say? If you are an average individual, slightly quick of temper, a few well-chosen Invectives in the Australian language would adequately express your feelings. Conversely, if of a pious disposition and given time to remember it, your inclination might bo to “turn the other cheek” excuse the fellow ® the grounds that the poor chap knew no better—quite admirable, of course, but under the clrcumstances hardly human. Whichever way It goes, however, these little episodes have a knack of proving beneficial to the outraged pedestrian. We have it on good authority from actual mudsplashed victims that after the suit, costume, or overcoat has been cleaned and nicely pressed by Taylors, the said garments look far superior thin before the incident took place. That, we feel. Is fate’s way of impressing upon people the fact that the old suit, costume, or overcoat was not all It could have been in cleanliness and appearance, and that, in any case, mnd or no mnd, it was time the darned thing went to Taylors anyhow -—Something in this don't you think? Or dent you??
