OFFICIAL FORECASTS ' (P.S.S.) WELLINGTON, September 13. The weather forecast for Canterbury, Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; Moderate variable winds. Weather fair to fine with temperatures slowly moderating. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is as follows: Moderate to fresh north-westerly winds. Weather becoming cloudy with scattered drizzle or rain developing from the south. Temperatures cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch during the week-end was fine but cold. Conditions were bleak on Saturday afternoon. There was more sunshine on Sunday, although there was a keen wind. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was clear and there was a moderate easterly wind. The barometer at 29.90 Inches (1012.5 millibars) was steady.
