ZONING THRESHING COMBINES

1 AGRICULTURAL CONTRACTORS' ASSOCIATION The feasibility of zoning the operations of standard mills, chaffcutters, balers, header-harvesters, and cloverhullers throughout North Canterbury was debated at the annual meeting of the North Canterbury Threshing and Contractors' Association. The executive will discuss the matter further. The admission of ploughing, drilling, and rolling contractors to the association was also referred to the executive. It was decided to change the name of the association to the North Canterbury Agricultural Contractors' Association. The following officers were elected: President, Mr W. J. Bowman; vicepresidents, Messrs A. C. Gadd and A. W. Amor; executive, Messrs L. J. Russell, J. Curragh, H. Hampton, A. P. H. Roscoe, C. A. Wornall, W. B. Craig, H. W. Peryman, H. B. Moir, R. B. Giles, and F. Thompson. Mr John Mclntyre, of Ashburton, a member almost since the inception of the association, was elected a life member.
