STATEMENT ON INDIA In his statement on India to the House of Commons Mr Churchill said that the recent activity of the Congress Parly might well have been aided by Japanese fifth column work. He disclosed that since the beginning of the disturbances fewer than 500 people had been killed in all the vast territory of India. Large reinforcements h;id reached India, where the number of white soldiers was now greater than at any time in the British connexion.—London, September 10. *
