RAINS MAY DELAY SIBERIA ATTACK
(Rec. 1 a.m) CHUNGKING. Sept. 10. A Chinese military spokesman says torrential rains are in the Russian Province’s, whi£h might force the Japanese to postpone any contemplated attack, at least until the first freeze-over in November. ATTACKS BY GUNMEN IN EIRE POLICEMAN SHOT DEAD LONDON, Sept. 9. A detective-sergeant was shot dead while driving alone in daylight from his home in County Dublin to headquarters. His three attackers escaped on bicycles. A reward of £SOOO has been offered for information about the attackers. The Belfast police have rounded up 10 men in County Down who are suspected of complicity in an attempt on the life of a special constable near Rostrevor. Gunmen fired five shots into the constable’s house, but he, his wife and children escaped injury.
