Reporting to the Nelson Education Board, at its annual meeting, the chairman (the Hon. W. H, Mclntyre) said that he had interviewed the Minister of Education about the position of .teachers in the Home Guard. The Minister had been of the same opinion as the board—that the teacher’s first duty in case of emergency was the care of the children. A further ruling will be sought on the subject.
