BRIGADIER CLIFTON MISSING

« SEVERE LOSS TO NEW ZEALAND DIVISION ” (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. An announcement that Brigadier G. H. Clifton has been officially reported missing, was commented on by the Acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) to-night. He said that the removal of this gallant officer from the active list would be a severe loss to the New Zealand Division. He had a distinguished record of service in action, and he hoped very soon to learn that he is safe and well
