TIME -BOMB FOUND IN U.S. FACTORY

■ ♦ , NEWARK (New Jersey), Sept. 8. The discovery of a powerful timebomb in the Western Electric Company’s vast plant was disclosed on the unest by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of an employee, Bernard Joseph O’Donell, who was supposed to have found the bomb. He has been charged with attempted sabotage. The accused protested that he had made the bomb and planted it merely as “heroics” and to demonstrate that it could be done. The Federal Bureau of Investigation said that the bomb had been set to explode at 11 p.m. on Sunday, but at 10.42 p.m. it was handed tc company guards. Had the bomb exploded it could have killed 100 persons..
