PRAMS ON TRAMS

Sir, —After months of* concentrated effort by the Housewives’ Union, the position regarding prams on trams is still not finalised, and the young mothers of „ .Christchurch are still clamouring for '.the 'right to have at least consideration, if not preference, on their own trams. 1 look for the day when women start as conductresses, as I feel sure. our young marrieds will get consideration from their own sex, and I also look for the day when women have a fair representation on the Tramways Board. When that day arrives, it is my opinion that the “Prams on Trams” question would be settled within the first month of their election.—Yours, etc,, M. E, FUREY. August 12, 1942.
