The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of Issue, (s as follows: Moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly winds. Some scattered mist or drizzle on the coast and scattered rain developing In the Alps, but weather otherwise fair. Temperatures moderating. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Moderate' to fresh northerly to north-westerly winds, becoming strong at times In the south. Weather dull, with rain becoming general. Temperatures moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather In Christchurch during the week-end was fine but cold. On Saturday there was a light south-west wind. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast and there was a light wind from the north-east. The barometer at 29.9i1n (1014.2 millibars) was steady.
