TEMUKA TIMARU, • August 11. Although there were large entries of good quality at the Temuka sale, fat sneep were easier by 3s, and fat cattle "barely held their own. There was a good sale of store sheep and store cattle. Best fai wethers made from 38s to 41s; medium, 33s to 365; light, 22s 6d to 31s; best fat ewes 23s to 26s lOd; medium, 21s to 22s 4d; light, 14s to 18s, In the fat cattle section, best steers made £l3 to £l4 7s 6d; fair to medium, £ll to £l2 12s 6d; best fat heifers, £l2 to £l3 17s 6d; medium, £ll to £ll 17s 6d; light, £8 to £9 17s 6d; best fat cows, £l2 to £l4 7s 6o medium, £lO to £ll 7s 6d; light, £8 to £9 7s 6d. In the store cattle section, three-year bullocks made to £l2; two-year bullocks made to £9. Store sheep: Ewe hoggets made to 29s 10d; ewes and lambs. 11s 6d; ewes in lamb, 19s to 22s 7u; wether hoggets, 22s 4d; six and 8-tooth halfbred ewes made to 255. ASHBURTON A drop of between 2s and 3s was shown in prices ruling at the Ashburton stock sale yesterday for fat sheep. The decrease in prices was more marked In good quality lines than In inferior sheep. There was i good yarding and a fair attendance of buyers For M. S. Kingsbury (Wakanui) four heavy wethers were sold at 40s 4d, other wethers making prices ranging from 26s 4d. Fat ewes made from 16s Id to 26s 9d. LORNEVILLE (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, August 11. The fat wether market was quite firm at the Lorneville sale to-day. Best quality heavy ewes were about Is 6d a head cheaper and medium and lighter sorts about Is Gd a head dearer. Best prime heavy wethers realised from 42s 6d to 44s 6d, prime quality 40s to 41s 6d. medium weights 38s to 395, light weights 35s 6d to 375. best quality ewes to 28s 9d, prime heavy ewes 26s to 27s 3d, good quality 24s 6d to 25s 6d, medium weights 22s to 235, light weights 19s to 20s 6d, Inferior 12s to 16s, and fat lambs 45s 9d. Fat cattle prices were about 15s a head dearer than last week, with beef values about £2 per 1001b. Prime heavy bullocks realised from £l7 to £lB 2s 6d, good quality £ls 10s to £l6 10s, medium £l4 to £l4 15s, light weights £lO 10s to £l2. prime heavy heifers up to £l3 10s, good quality medium weights £lO 10s to £ll 10s. light weights £8 15s to £9 10s, small to £7 15s. prime quality cows up to £l3. good quality £lO 5s to £ll 10s, medium £8 to £9, unfinished £6 5s to £7 ss, and inferior £3 10s to £4 10s.
