AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION FEES

Sir,—ln view of the restrictions on petrol curtailing the use of motor-cars to an absolute minimum, surely the Automobile Association (Canterbury) could assist motorist members by reducing the annual fee of £1 Is by half for the duration of the war. The general expenses of the association are now greatly reduced, as there is no need for the erection of sign-posts or the maintenance of patrolmen on the road. There is therefore no need to maintain revenue at the former standard.—Yours, etc,, OLD MEMBER. August 10, 1942. [Officials of the Automobile Association, Canterbury, to whom this letter was referred, said the matter was under consideration.]
