* The Minister of Health (the Hon. A. H. Nordmeycr) will arrive in Christchurch to-day. He met the Otago Labour Representation Committee last night, and he will address the Canterbury committee to-night. The Minister of Civil Defence (the Hon. W A. Bodkin) returned to Christchurch last night after a visit to southern centres. The Minister will confer with the Christchurch E.P.S. authorities to-day and return to Wellington to-morrow. Mr L. F. Row. technical officer of the National Service Department, visited Christchurch yesterday for discussions with the technical committee of the metropolitan E.P.S. Mr B. Seth Smith has been reelected to the board of managers of the Christchurch Technical College as a representative of the Employers’ Associations. The election for a representative of the local bodies will take place to-day, Mr D. Rowse, a present member, and Mr M. E. Lyons being the candidates.
Mr G. H. McLean, District Traffic Manager, Railways Department. Christchurch. left yesterday for Westport with the Minister of Railways (the Hon. R. Semple) and Mr P. H. Morey, District Engineer, Railways Department.
