World’s Largest Bomber.—The British four-engined Avro-Lancaster can carry eight tons of bombs and is the world’s largest and fastest bomber. It averages 300 miles an hour, with an unusually fast rate of climb. It is so heavily armed that it can cope with two night-fighters simultaneously. It normally carries a crew of seven.— London, August 7.
