ORANGES
Sir;—l think it is time something was I none to help the people to get a few | oranges, instead of their being allowed to rot in the handt. of the Government. | The Plunket Society orders orange I Juice for babies, and after being with- | out for weeks, we were able to pur- | chase oranges at the Plunket rooms for | the baby, who needed them in place of I harmful drugs. One out of the four | was bad the day after being purchased. | J presume this fruit had been stored I py the Government, which is supposed |to have the health of the people at I heart They seem to prefer paying for i doctors and drugs instead of beginning at the right end. Why not use the tax money we pay to bring goods such ®a fresh fish, vegetables, milk, and fruit of all kinds within the means of everyone and educate the people to Jake these goods rather than drugs? Yours, etc.. N.B. May 28, 1942.
