The outbreak was caused by sparks from a chimney, and the Central Fire Brigade soon extinguished the fire. The brigade also answered a call to the Regent Theatre building, where a cigarette butt thrown from one of the windows above set a veranda alight soon after 6.30 o’clock last evening.
